Kelly van Frankenhuyzen

Yoga Instructor & Wellness Advocate

Kelly van Frankenhuyzen is a passionate yoga instructor based in Detroit, Michigan, bringing a grounded, holistic approach to movement and wellness. With a 200-hour yoga certification and a deep love for the outdoors, Kelly helps people reconnect with their bodies and breath through accessible, empowering yoga practices. A lifelong athlete turned wellness guide, she believes movement should be joyful, consistent, and rooted in what your body truly needs.

Growing up on a 40-acre hobby farm near Lansing, Kelly learned early on the healing power of nature, movement, and community. Her active upbringing—filled with hiking, biking, and team sports—naturally evolved into a life devoted to wellness. After serving in the Peace Corps twice and traveling the world, she discovered that no matter where she was, movement and mindfulness were always the constants. Whether it’s yoga, walking, skating, or playing volleyball, Kelly integrates her love for variety into her teaching style, encouraging students to move in ways that feel authentic and sustainable.

As a new instructor, Kelly brings fresh energy, curiosity, and deep empathy to every class. She works with a wide range of students and is especially passionate about helping people find empowerment through small, consistent steps. Her classes are designed to leave you feeling strong, calm, and connected—not only to your body, but to your breath and purpose. Her philosophy, “Move your body daily,” reflects her belief that true wellness is about listening to your body and embracing movement as a lifelong journey.

Kelly’s approach is grounded in real-life experience—from recovering from a major accident to navigating the challenges of sugar cravings and balance. Her students appreciate her honesty, her inclusive mindset, and the sense of calm she brings to every session. When she’s not teaching, you can find her meditating, walking her dogs, creating art, or dreaming of writing her next book. Kelly’s ultimate goal is to help people find joy in movement, clarity in stillness, and strength in showing up.
